Upper Adams adopts 4 million budget in seven to two vote

The Upper Adams School Board approved a 4 million 1982 83 budget by a 7 2 vote with Eugene Haas and Betty McCauslin dissenting. The meeting at the high school drew nearly 100 residents who debated the tax increase amid charges of budgeting inaccuracies and ongoing state fund reductions.

Budget rejected by McSherrystown council over raises

McSherrystown Borough Council rejected Adams County Earned Income Tax Agency's 1982 83 budget citing a 1 percent salary increase as excessive while approving a $65 computer system and sending a letter to Conewago Valley School District urging a similar stance. They backed an inter municipal sewer agreement with changes, discussed odor and flood controls, and moved to curb alley traffic with Willow Street restrictions near Hardees and Main Street Tavern.
