Cindy Stimer Crowned Hampton Fire Company Queen

Cindy Stimer a Delone High School senior and daughter of Mr and Mrs Harvey Stimer Jr was elected queen of the Hampton Fire Company at its annual carnival. Six contestants were judged with Debbie Lemmon placing the crown. The winner will represent the fire company in the county queen contest in August.

Vo Tech Names Advisory Unit Approves Nursing Craft Committee

Trophy honors Dr Bruce N Wolff at Gettysburg Horse Show

A trophy named for the late Dr Bruce N Wolff will be awarded for the first time at the 21st Gettysburg Horse Show on Sunday. The prize, purchased by colleagues, will be retired after a horse wins it three times, and will be presented in Pleasure Horse class No 18. Officials expect about 150 horses to enter the show at the South Mountain Fairgrounds, with events starting at noon and including grooming and showmanship, open jumping, two 4-H classes, Western and English Pleasure, under Maryland Pennsylvania circuit rules.

Beaver area school board at New Oxford High School approved Gary G. Harold as athletic director with a salary of 850 and named him golf coach at 300 for 1973-74. Local Democrats urged to attend Friday picnic

County Chairman Kenneth J. Cole appeals to all Democratic candidates for township and borough offices to attend a Friday evening event at the Charnita picnic grounds hosted by the Adams County Democratic Club. Assemblyman James Goodman will speak as 36 year old fourth-term state legislator from Schuylkill County. Cole stresses grassroots involvement and urges candidates for mayor, council, school directors and other offices to participate to show appreciation for those who serve in local government. George Tolbert Jr. Transferred After Vehicle Crash

Wholesale Prices Jump Shocks Economists in May

The Labor Department reports the wholesale price index rose 2.2 percent in May from April, with industrial commodities up 1.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis. Girl Injured In Car Crash On Route 30 Near McKnightstown

State police report two traffic accidents within four minutes Wednesday afternoon. Sylvia Suhrie, 20, Chambersburg, sustained a neck complaint after being rear–ended by George Meister, 55, Fayetteville, on Route 30. Meister’s Ford and Suhrie’s Mercury suffered damage totaling about 450 dollars. A second collision on Maple Street near Staub’s Garage involved S. E. Shuel, 72, Gettysburg, and Wayne Fissel, 34, Littlestown, with 200 dollars damage to each vehicle and no injuries.

Adams County Building and Loan Association and Cumberland Valley Savings and Loan Association pursue a merger. If approved, all savings accounts would be insured by the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corp. and the new entity would offer vacation savings, Christmas clubs, CDs, school loans, and direct reduction mortgages.
