Memorial Day Services Honor War Dead in Gettysburg

Memorial Day observances across Adams County included a Gettysburg parade and National Cemetery ceremonies with Air Force Brig. Gen. Stanton R. Musser delivering an address about defending democracy. Children laid flowers on Civil War graves as veterans, school bands, and civic groups participated. Musser noted the nation must fight for freedom and honor those who died in service. He recalled his Gettysburg roots and linked courage to national renewal, while local officials and volunteers were recognized for sustaining one of the region’s oldest Memorial Day traditions.
