Tyrone resident protests zoning variance denial

Anne Jones, owner of 33 acres in Tyrone Township, challenged a zoning board ruling that allowed selling two roadside parcels only to immediate family. Unemployment to rise in June in Pennsylvania and York area

Officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry forecast higher unemployment statewide and in the York area due to summer job seekers. Final June figures arrive later, but seasonally unadjusted rates will reflect increased job hunting, with statewide May at 4.0 percent and York at 3.0 percent, Michigan highest at 14 percent nationally.

Straban Supervisors seek restructuring of historic district pact

The Straban Township Supervisors plan to restructure a three way agreement with Cumberland Township and C J Frederick Associates to design a historic district in both townships. The $17 300 bid, accepted June 30, lacks clauses added by the board and must be revised to secure federal sewer funding. A practical license path for SCATCOM Inc to offer a non exclusive cable system was also discussed.

York Adams MH MR Plan open for public scrutiny

The 1983 86 York Adams Mental Health Mental Retardation Plan is released for public review with hearings set for August 3 and 4.
