Afternoon devotional led by Hey Lester M. Wk Springs Lutheran pastor. Spencer W. Aungst of St. James Lutheran church delivers afternoon address. Elections follow a 1051 business session. Executive committee session precedes 7 o clock general assembly. Rev Kenneth D. Jhines of Panes Lutheran is evening speaker.
Funeral services for Attorney Samuel B Meisenhelder of York will be held at 9 o’clock EST Thursday at Union Lutheran Church on West Market Street. The body will be in state from 8 to 9:45 AM. viewing at Edward W Baumeister Funeral Home from 6 PM tonight. Interment in Prospect Hill cemetery.

Edward Pitventure nine year old son of Mr and Mrs Edward Pitten luc of West High street received treatment at Warner hospital Tuesday evening for a fracture left arm. He was discharged later. Ernest Johnson Biglerville R 1 underwent early morning surgery for appendectomy. Richard Leroy Pilzer and Ruth Pitzer Biglerville R 1 were operated on for the removal of tonsils. Mrs Halbert Paley York street and Clair Haffensperger Gettysburg R BD admitted. Will Andrews McKrigits town discharged as patient.
Velma West, inmate of the Ohio Women's Reformatory, and fellow escapee Mary Ellen Richards were arrested quietly on a city street after a 26 day escape joined by two other prisoners. Detectives Buchanan Daniel and Samford nabbed them following a nationwide manhunt and a newspaper-visible lead.
Donn Fendler a 12 year old Boy Scout from Rye Maine was found after eight days lost in the Maine wilderness. He traveled about 35 miles toward a Kajahdin summit area and finally reached a guide Nelson E Me Moai 62 Sherman. He was taken by canoe and auto toward Bangor hospital after resting with Mrs Mc Moarn and the boy's family.
Miss Nadine Ada Fuckinger daughter of Mr and Mrs J Calvin Fuckinger Hanover and Stanley Bentzel son of Mr and Mrs Calvin Bentzel New Oxford RD were married Tuesday at 2 pm on the Trinity Reformed church parsonage Hanover by Rev Br Mursby J Roth. They will reside at 220 Beckond Avenue Hanover. The bride a Hanover High School graduate works at Hanover Narrow Ribbon Specialty mills. The groom a New Oxford High School graduate works at Gettysburg Furniture Company.
William L. Smith 67, former borough cornet and acting burgess of Hanover, died Tuesday after a lengthy illness. Survived by wife Elizabeth McKim, seven children including Mrs George F Shultz and W Cyril Smith, two brothers, three sisters, and 30 grandchildren. Funeral Friday at St Joseph's Catholic Church Hanover with high mass. Burial in St Marys cemetery McSherrystown.
Pittsburgh July 26 AP A shopper shot at a group during a gasoline price war as local dealers advertised 16 cents a gallon. A man named Frank E Kline was wounded by birdshot while a clerk at a station reported the incident. Authorities say headlines on price cuts spurred the violence amid a broader dispute among dealers. The shotgun incident follows protests at stations deflating fuel prices in Allegheny County.
Survivors include Mr and Mrs Rex Roilenteve among a 25 member summer school party trapped by a snowslide on Mount Baker near Glacier Warrington. Six people died in the incident. Rove reportedly freed himself from mud and ran 12 miles to a ranger station seeking help.
Washington motorist James R. Shields, 44, was fined $10 and ordered to pay costs for reckless driving after a two-vehicle mishap on a hot Tuesday afternoon near Gettysburg. His car struck a rear fender as he tried to reenter the highway from the east side, causing no injuries and about $4,000 in damage to the other vehicle.
Philadelphia July 25 AP A doctor, Harry Arnold Goldfine, sues cousin Charles Goldfine seeking 411000 for alleged disruptive silent calls between 2 and 5 am since May. He claims the nuisance has ruined home life, forced family to leave town, and seeks damages for health and insomnia adding punitive damages.
Lancaster July 26 The hunger stones appear in the Susquehanna river for the first time in 12 years, signaling a predicted famine as drought grips the region. Local residents recall Anab legend about boulders foretelling hunger when they rise above the water.
Gettysburg detail reports that state motor police were summoned to Chambersburg headquarters to be measured today for new uniforms. The outfits will resemble those currently used.
Seventy five persons attended a reception at Highland's park Tuesday evening for the new Fairfield pastor Rev Nevin Frants and Mrs Frants. John Jiminy Waddies known as Jiminy Waddies was jailed five days by Justice of the Peace Joh HH Base dere for disorderly conduct. Special Officer Paul B. Shearer of the borough police brought the charge after arrest near Penter Square around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. The jail term was imposed in default of payment of an $8 fine and costs.
Pittsburgh reports a new exclusive club formed by 40 plus executives to help men over 40 earning at least 4000 a year, find employment. The group started with 32 members, may limit to 40 before adding associates, and ban members from applying for jobs themselves.

Three hundred B O 7 C men from Carlisle Medical school toured Gettysburg battlefield today under Major Reynolds. They arrived at seven, enjoyed a National Park escort, lunched at Devil's Den, and returned to Carlisle by early afternoon.
