Keystone drops appeal of landfill expansion veto

Keystone Sani tation Co. withdrew its appeal of the state DER denial of a 21 acre expansion at the Union Township landfill. Attorneys noted the timing with the EPA RI/FS report, while leaving open the possibility of a new permit request. Cumberland Township approves Longview Estates home

Cumberland Township supervisors approved a two story house in Longview Estates for Todd Gordon following the Historical Architectural Review Board recommendation. Eloise Wilson said PennDOT is studying Taneytown Road speeds from 55 to 40 mph after resident complaints. A traffic signal at Route 30 Reynolds Avenue is funded and installed by the National Park Service after a park service request and traffic study.

Gettysburg Borough Tractor Recovered After Theft

The 1988 Ford Model 19260 tractor valued at $12,000 was found within nine hours after disappearing from the Rec Park. Detective Walter G. Gliem Jr. said a suspect, William Mitchell, was arrested in Gettysburg and later linked to the NC purchase in Wilkesboro. the case involves cross state legal issues and ongoing efforts to recover the tractor and pursue civil action.
