Maryland based Park Avenue Promotions and Franklin Township officials met Monday to resolve disputes over a public safety ordinance governing an August 23 to 27 craft show on a Mummasburg Road farm owned by Donald Cilento. The firm had filed two lawsuits seeking to bar enforcement of the ordinance in U S District Court and Adams County Common Pleas Court. A hearing is set for Aug 3. Initial estimates claimed up to 300000 attendees but have since been revised to 50000 to 75000. The group paid the $1000 permit fee and awaits township action within 20 days.

Littlestown street supervisor to retire
Littlestown's longtime street supervisor Earl Weaver announced retirement at a borough council meeting. He will step down Sept 9 after 20 years and may stay on as part time building and plumbing inspector to aid his successor. Interim hire Mike Dillman will fill the post for six months.
