After nearly three hours of deliberation a 12 member jury returned verdicts in the case of Jeanette Taylor charged with a stake attack on another woman. The trial concluded Friday with the jury delivering its decision.
Frances T Drago, 41, said vindication brings sadness as Jeanette Ruth Taylor, 38, was found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault, burglary and other charges in the 1989 attack that left Drago hospitalised 24 days. The jury did not convict Taylor of attempted murder.
A two car collision on Baltimore Pike in Mount Joy Township left Steven B Showers 26 of Biglerville and Lorena D Cockley 27 of Hanover seriously injured. Barry Cockley 30 of Hanover remained in stable condition at Gettysburg Hospital. Fire crews freed trapped victims as rain halted Life Lion transport. Debris struck a third vehicle but caused no further injuries.
Peter Wirs a 35 year old who planned two York newspapers was arraigned on a 25000 dollar bad check charge. He posted no bail and was jailed in York County Prison. The case involves payments for promotional materials tied to Wirs proposed newspapers the Independent and Post and the York Daily Record and York Dispatch S
