AMP Inc the large maker of electrical connectors will cut about 3500 jobs worldwide by year end reducing its workforce by 7.5 percent. The Harrisburg company plans to close two Loganville Pennsylvania plants and one in Kerne affecting 540 workers with production moved to plants in Pennsylvania North Carolina and South Carolina.
Non profit ACEDC helps bring 158 new jobs to Adams County as Tim Bar Corp expands with four Adams and York county operations. The project includes 355 800 square feet of industrial space and adds at least 150 local jobs, with over 56 000 dollars annually in state, county and school tax revenue. ACEDC president Catherine Cresswell says benefits are significant though hard to measure.
