Thursday reached 89 at the Eisenhower Site NPS station in Gettysburg with a 66 degree low. Friday and Saturday forecast partly sunny and hot with highs around 90 and a chance of afternoon or evening thundershowers. Night temps upper 60s to low 70s and a ten percent precipitation chance through Friday night.
A hay barn collapsed at the Robert H. Welty farm one mile from Mummasburg while being filled, trapping four people and an ailing cow. The incident occurred Wednesday shortly before 8 p.m. and left a dangerous scene with debris and injured workers.
