A 19th century round barn on the Cashtown Arendisville Road near mile marker 30 is being considered for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. The Barn sits on a 240 acre farm once run by Lt Col John Linn Sr and his son John Linn Jr, with connections to local fruit and beet farming and a historic saw mill and barn complex.

An exhibit of two Winslow Homer wood engravings opens Tuesday at the Artistic Accent Gallery near Gelisburg. Homer, a Civil War war correspondent for Harper's Weekly, produced 400 drawings for reproduction. the show runs through August 13 with daily hours 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday to Saturday and 2 5 pm on Sunday.

Marine Dies In West Coast Auto Crash
PFC Ronald Lee Eckenrode of Chambersburg died Friday in Parker, Arizona, Community Hospital after an automobile accident. He was a 1977 graduate of Wilson High School in Wilkinsburg and served in the U S Marine Corps since September 1977. He is survived by his parents, siblings, stepfamily, and grandparents. Funeral services are set for Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg with burial in Biglerville Cemetery.
