Parking tokens arrive for Gettysburg to ease meter use
Parking tokens featuring AMA's Get It In Gettysburg logo go on sale Monday at the parking department on North Stratton Street and via local merchants. Tokens, about the size of a quarter, fit quarter slots in meters on the square and first blocks of Carlisle York Chambersburg and Baltimore streets. Meter conversion should finish Monday. The two dimes equal one quarter of parking time.

Franklin Township supervisors adopted two ordinances regulating massage establishments and sexually oriented businesses to curb rising numbers. At a November 17, 1989 meeting attended by about 200 residents, officials discussed licensing and inspections modeled on Dallas rules, with zoning planning urged for 1990.

Gettysburg hospital evacuated after explosive picric acid found
Emergency and laboratory areas at The Gettysburg Hospital were evacuated when inspectors found a liquid form of picric acid in the lab. The U S Army bomb squad removed the material at 10 50 p m and turned it over to the state for disposal. Three critical care patients were moved, and ambulances were diverted to Hanover General Hospital while the area reopened by midnight.
