Court dismisses challenge to Pennsylvania school funding law
Commonwealth Court Judge Dan Pellegrini dismissed the seven year legal challenge by the Pennsylvania Association of Rural and Small Schools to the state funding formula. He found no proof that the subsidy distribution prevented a basic education in many districts. The decision leaves funding decisions to local boards and the General Assembly.

Pothole closure shuts New Jersey Turnpike Bridge span
An 8 by 3 foot pothole on the Delaware River bridge forced the westbound lanes to close for about 10 hours. Repair crews peered to the river while the hole damaged tires and engineers deemed the bridge unsafe. The 42 year old span is undergoing partial deck replacement as a key east west corridor.
