Wal-Mart says good faith efforts to save a Civil War hospital house and a 19th century barn along U S 30 near Gettysburg failed. Maryland craft show promoters face 6 million suit in Adams County

A Maryland firm Park Avenue Promotions filed a $6 million lawsuit in Gettysburg Adams County Circuit Court against a Maryland promoter over a planned August craft show on Mummasburg Road. Hamilton Supervisors Approve Agricultural Security Area

The Hamilton Township Supervisors unanimously approve an Agricultural Security Area to protect farms in residential zones from subdivision into many lots. Littlestown Urges Borough Permit Rules Upfront

Littlestown reminds residents building and zoning permits are required for most projects within the borough not just those over 1000 dollars. Borough manager Richard Selby notes permits cover new structures, changes to existing ones, curbs and sidewalks, and any renovations. A plot plan is needed for new buildings and processing can take up to a month.

Keystone landfill study due for public release and hearing

EPA official says the first part of the Remedial Investigation Feasibility Study for the Keystone Sanitation Co. landfill will be released to the public by July 18. A public hearing is planned for August in Union Township to explain the study and gather comments.
