Aristokraft driveway plan approved by Littlestown board

The Littlestown ZHB voted 3-0 to grant Aristokraft a variance for a new employee driveway on East Lakeview Avenue near Stonesifer Drive with restrictions. The exit is for right turns only, no trucks, and access limited to employee traffic, while borough approval for a formal driveway permit is pending. The project accompanied a plant expansion that included demolishing the old H Crouse Building.

Stabbing sentence decided for Alvaro Trejo in Adams County

Alvaro R. Trejo was sentenced by Judge John D. Kuhn to three to six years for the voluntary manslaughter of Cecilio Tolentino in the 1992 incident. Trejo, jailed since December 8, 1992, could be eligible for parole in under a year.

15 year old dies on Ski Roundtop run in Pennsylvania

Kimberly Ann Hope, 15, of Landisville, died after being found unconscious at the base of Ski Roundtop near Lewisberry. She had severe head injuries and a low body temperature hours after a ski club trip with Hempfield High School. Her mother described her as vivacious and outgoing.

No Snow Brings $7,000 Borough Savings in Fairfield

Fairfield Borough reports no snow removal costs this winter while January measures only 1.6 inches. Last year at this time the town had spent about $7,000 on plowing and anti slip materials, says Borough Council President Francis Coal. The sparse snowfall kept plows idle, saving funds.

Waybright to not seek reelection to second term

Adams County Commissioner Richard C. Waybright said he will not run again, recalling his 1991 pledge to serve only one term. The 65-year-old Republican cites a goal to bring fresh ideas and improve county life while stressing land use planning as his key achievement. Democrats Weaver and Stokes have not announced plans for the May 16 primary. terms expire this year.

Campaign to dismantle Gettysburg tower may end
