SCATCOM Inc seeks a non exclusive cable franchise to serve rural Adams Cumberland Franklin and York counties with a trunkline from Route 116 west of Gettysburg through Carroll Valley. Basic service 12 channels plus PBS news local and 24 hour news at 15 monthly. Higher tiers 12 and 8 more for movies and sports. Board will decide in two weeks. Energy survey of municipal building approved and Route 34 no passing zone sought. Local action requires consent from Gettysburg borough Fairfield and Carroll Valley. Keeler presided at a eucharistic celebration and dedication of Academy Village, the new five apartment complex for seniors in McSherrystown built by the Sisters of St. Joseph with Adams County Housing Authority aid. The complex also serves as a senior center with meals, reading, and recreation, open since Aug. 3, 1981, for residents of McSherrystown and Conway Township.
