The world premiere reception for Ghosts of Gettysburg runs 5 to 9 pm at the Main Street Gettysburg Exhibit Center 10 Lincoln Square. Attendees meet Greystone producer Craig Haffner and author Mark Nesbatt, with autographs and hourly T shirt prizes starting at 530 pm. Refreshments served.

Littlestown teachers clash with school board over contract talks

LAEA leader Tom Weikel accuses Littlestown directors of lying about bargaining. He contends the district and its negotiating team gave an inaccurate account of talks that lasted over a year before a contract was ratified. Freedom Township to hold public zoning meeting

The Freedom Township Zoning Steering Committee, after two hours of debate, plans a public informational meeting in late February though work remains unfinished. Fourteen members attended and residents packed the room amid petitions alleging the zoning would be too restrictive and costly.

Shade Tree Commission Creates Protective Ordinance

The Gettysburg Borough Shade Tree Commission approved an ordinance to protect street trees and preserve the boroughs attractive streets. The three member panel formed in 1990 and started its work in 1993 with Shirly Carlson and Wayne Mayers as members. The measure applies to public trees across the borough and does not cover private trees.
