Freedom Township Zoning Steering Committee Tonight
Freedom Township residents will meet at 8 p m at the township building on Pumping Station Road to discuss a petition opposing restrictive ordinances. Supervisor Richard Varish announced last week he collected more than 180 signatures and more residents are expected to attend tonight's meeting.

Gettysburg School Board approves an Act 34 hearing for the Straban Township project with a February 27 date. The proposed two story high school on the Oscar Mehring farm would cost up to 33.6 million with 1 200 to 1 600 student capacity and facilities including a three court gym and 1 600 seat auditorium.

Fairfield Board OKs final Plancon J for 1.9 million project
Fairfield Area School District directors approved submitting Plancon J the final building project report to the state Department of Education completing the 1.9 million addition at the elementary school begun in 1990. The district aims to secure final state reimbursement though amounts may change. The board also authorized disposal of old records dating back to 1918 to free storage space per the state School Code and agreed to annual reviews to prevent future buildup.
