Gettysburg residents should place Christmas trees at the curb by Tuesday January 10 for pickup. Trees may also be brought to Gettysburg Recreation Park until Wednesday for chipping.

Simpson judge warns of delay to opening statements

Los Angeles AP The O J Simpson trial judge said that disputes over admitting domestic violence evidence could substantially delay opening statements. Superior Court Judge Lance Ito ordered jurors to return Monday for further instructions and said opening arguments could begin as early as Jan 18.

Gettysburg battlefield guide test scores announced

National Park Service officials said they have completed scoring tests for 192 Gettysburg battlefield guide license applicants. The average was 73 percent, with 38 scoring 85 percent or higher advancing to the next review stage after a four hour exam. Applicants paid 25 dollars to cover admin costs. scores ranged from 99 to 28 percent.
