Sculptor restoring monument at park

Sculptor Eleftherios Karkadoulias works at Gettysburg National Military Park on restorations for the 10 year program begun in 1979 with no current federal funding. He has recast missing pieces, restored five large bronze pieces, and plans a bronze plaque on the First New Jersey Brigade monument in April.

Emmitsburg Residents Plan Protest Over Ski Resort

Concerned Emmitsburg citizens gathered to petition the Town Council against a proposed ski resort on College Mountain. Cutbacks threaten local colleges in national aid fight

Recreation program approved by SCCAP board

The South Central Community Action Programs board approved a summer recreation program for low income youth aged 12 to 18 with emphasis on 12 to 15. The plan includes camping swimming and rock climbing with weekend trips and training, mostly in Caledonia State park area or nearby lakes, funded by a 4000 grant and an additional 1200 from prior grants.

Weather outlook shows sunny periods into weekend
