Adams Electric seeks SCATCOM cable plan for Adams County

Adams Electric Cooperative Manager Charles Overman pitches SCATCOM a cable telecommunications system to local governments in southwestern Adams County. The plan aims to cut future utility costs by as much as 19 million over 20 years and could reshape electricity sales through load management and customer monitors. The venture, rooted in a two year CATV feasibility study, would allow customers to purchase electricity like fuel by monitoring usage and costs at home or business.

Fairfield hosts winter blahs party Madison area townspeople

Fairfield borough held a no admission party in Village Hall to lift winter blahs with 60 to 70 of 590 residents attending. Council President Gary Bechtel said the event, funded at about 100 dollars, honored long-serving council member Thomas and Newman and aimed to return tax revenues to taxpayers while fostering community conversation.

Adams County Democrats Back Ertel for Governor Bid

Adams County Democratic Committee on Saturday endorsed incumbent state Rep. Kenneth J. Cole for a fifth term and U S Rep Alten Ertel of Montoursville as the gubernatorial candidate. Ertel, a former Lycoming County district attorney and three-term congressman, has not confirmed a run but is expected to announce. Cole, 46, of Gettysburg, has no primary opposition and limited Republican challenge. The party also backed local organizers, set registration drives, and highlighted redistricting changes that will affect the 199th District.
