Alexander F. Wilkie reports the Adams County VA office is compiling a Vietnam and Korea War honor roll but many veterans have not registered. Stovepipe starts house fire kills two children in Hampton
A curtain ignited by a stovepipe caused a house blaze that killed eight year old William Andrew Martin and ten year old Teri Agnas Martin of New Oxford. Fire officials say the stove was installed correctly and no malfunction occurred. The fire at the John and Linda Martin residence near Hampton left both children in bed on the second floor as flames and smoke spread. Firefighters arrived quickly, faced heavy smoke, and could not reach the children until the blaze was under control about 30 minutes after the alarm. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at St Joseph's Church in Bonneauville.
