A winter storm warning calls for 2 to 4 inches of snow and a mix with sleet and freezing rain. Rain develops by evening with highs in the mid 30s and southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Periods of rain tonight then cloudy Thursday with a 60 percent morning rain chance and highs 40 to 45.

Thomas R. Carr announced Tuesday his candidacy for re election as district justice for Gettysburg and Cumberland Straban and Mount Joy townships. He has served 11 years overseeing 7700 filings in 1994 four full time clerks and 750000 in fines. He completed required district justice training and 350 hours of continuing education. Carr also handles weddings and serves as duty justice for Adams County once a month.

National Park Service officials defended ongoing efforts to remove the Gettysburg battlefield tower amid criticism from Tower owners and a Baltimore investor. Park spokeswoman Katie Lawhon praised the parties for ideas to purchase and remove the tower while noting May 1 as a potential deadline if no deal is reached. Lawhon said tower removal remains a top priority alongside museum renovations for the park's Civil War collection.
