The day starts sunny with increasing high clouds this afternoon. Highs reach 25 to 30 degrees with a west wind around 10 mph. Tonight remains mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries after midnight and lows in the mid to upper teens. Tuesday looks cloudy with a chance of light snow or flurries and a high in the 30s.
O J Simpson visited his Brentwood estate for the first time since arrest eight months ago but did not join jurors on a tour of the murder scene. He stood in the front yard chatting with lawyers while plain clothes deputies watched. Jurors took a daylong tour of the home including the bedroom, bathroom, closet, kitchen, garage, laundry, and trophy room.
Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and PLO adviser Nabil Shaath met with Secretary of State Warren Christopher and pledged to overcome the stalemate and pursue expanded Palestinian self rule on the West Bank. Christopher said both sides would not turn back from the peace search.
Gettysburg National Military Park launched its first Junior Ranger class during centennial weekend ceremonies. Superintendent John Latschar awarded 28 children certificates and cloth badges after a 45 minute program, as Ranger Pamela Neil explained the aims of engaging youths ages five to thirteen in park history and preservation.
Congress considers cuts and realignment of National Park Service sites as major facilities demand more funds. Gettysburg and Eisenhower sites report rising visitor counts while a backlog reaches over 5 million for maintenance and services. Crown jewels like Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Grand Canyon seek relief from an $80 million backlog.

National Park Service officials and preservationists at Gettysburg National Military Park mark the centennial with displays of three commemorative coins to be sold March 31. Proceeds from a gold piece, a silver dollar, and a copper nickel half dollar are expected to raise about 21.5 million for the Civil War Trust to preserve battlefields.
