Fire department battles three alarms across multiple sites

Linkstown firemen confined a blaze to a gas dryer on the first floor washette of the Roberta Jean Apartments at 8 21 p m Wednesday. Lovestown fire chief says wiring fault triggered the dryer fire. Emmitsburg and Rocky Ridge crews fought a chimney fire at Richard Wivell’s home on Motler Stanius Rd, about three miles south of Bromitsburg, at 6 57 p m Wednesday, started by soot from a wood stove. Bigierville and Aspers teams spent 30 minutes on a smoke investigation on Guernsey Rd between the communities at 4 10 p m Wednesday. toast in an electric toaster was blamed and no damage reported.

Bubba Smith Jury Deadlocked In Fla

TAMPAFlatAP: You haven't won and you haven't lost. Nothing was accomplished. A jury failed to decide if negligence caused Bubba Smith’s 1972 knee injury. Judge John Miller declared a mistrial in Smith’s $25 million suit against the NFL after six days of testimony. Smith's lawyer Tony Cunningham said a retrial would be sought, possibly by spring. The four man two woman jury deliberated seven hours over two days before reporting a deadlock.
