Gunman Kills 2 Wounds 4 Five Bodies Found in Home
A man with two revolvers killed two people and wounded four then surrendered. Police found five more bodies at the house and searched for five relatives. R Gene Simmons Sr, 47, of Dover surrendered to a trucking company office after visiting a convenience store and an oil firm. He had quit the convenience store job a week before Christmas. Authorities planned to charge him with capital murder and attempted capital murder, bond set for today in Pope County Circuit Court.

Coastal storm brings snow to Adams County roads
National Weather Service warned of a winter storm with five to six inches of accumulation in Adams County. Phil Neff said this storm differs from the mudwest blast and could cause driving problems Tuesday. Higgs Bound Over To Court For Murder In Adams County
Gettysburg man Gilbert Higgs 42 was bound over to the Adams County Court of Common Pleas on first and third degree murder and voluntary manslaughter after a Monday preliminary hearing. A large show of plain clothes guards guarded Courtroom 2 with consent of both sides. The case stems from a Dec. 11 shooting at Hunterstown Automotive garage that left Barry Tower dead. Witnesses described Higgs discussing a life insurance policy on the victim and offering to pay a broker if a policy could be arranged.
