County Keeps Tax Rate With Final Budget Approval

Adams County Commissioners adopted a 1979 budget totaling 3,530,108 with about a 23 percent spending rise and no tax increase. A year end balance of 311,075 funds the spend. Increased revenues from departments and a projected 311,5000 from the new county home shape the balanced plan. ACTA President Michael J. Rura criticizes cost overruns and personnel expansions while praising the tax rate retention. He calls for cuts in judicial and welfare areas and notes last year’s 311.11 remaining tax, but ends by commending the commissioners as Biesecker resigns.
