Adams County hit by first major winter storm of season

A heavy snowstorm blanketed Adams County with six to eight inches possible by Friday morning as freezing rain could follow. Western areas near the Mason-Dixon line may see more snow, while Gettysburg reported three inches by 9:30 p.m. Thursday. PennDOT crews plowed and salting roads to prevent icing, with 30 trucks operating until noon and again before the morning rush. Local municipalities activated snow emergency programs as officials monitored conditions across the region.

Desert Shield salute to Petty Officer Curtis Jr

ABC-TV plans Gettysburg mini series from Killer Angels

New York filmmaker Ron Maxwell said ABC Television agreed to produce a four to six hour mini series based on Michael Shaara’s The Killer Angels. Plans call for filming May to August and a November air date with potential shoots in Gettysburg National Military Park.
