Commissioners Send Tax Forms to All Assessors and Banks
The SGams county commissioners ordered personal property tax forms mailed to all assessors and banks. Forms cover HolGy moses promissory notes bonds and other assets and must be returned by January 15. Banks may receive blank forms and deposits and war bonds are listed as non taxable assets. Audits apply and penalties include up to a 50 percent assessment increase for failure to file. Last year the total assessment exceeded 33,000.69.

Gunmen Hold Up Maryland Service Station for $40
Grand View service station between Thusmont and Eramitsburs was robbed Friday night as two gunmen escaped with about $40 in cash. Police investigated with few descriptions. station employee C S Rhodes identified being held up. The station, open all night, is run by Roscoe Lantz near Route 16 two miles south of St Anthony's.
