Eastern Pennsylvania forecast calls for fair, cold tonight and increasing clouds Thursday with warmer temperatures and a chance of light snow in western and northern portions. Local merchants advertise sleds and toys at reduced prices, Holly wreaths, bulk Christmas candy, oranges at 25 cents per dozen, turkeys 52 cents a pound, and special candy prices in Gettysburg.
Obituary summary notes the deaths of John Harrison Lauver and A Brinkerhoff, long-time county residents. Lauver of Gettysburg, 53, leaves a large immediate family and several brothers, with services set at Stine United Brethren Church. Mr and Mrs S G Bigham of Biglerville learn their daughter Miss Helen Bigham is ill with scarlet fever at Morristown New Jersey hospital. Miss Bigham serves on the Netcong New Jersey high school faculty. Mr Bigham traveled to Morristown today.
Gettysburg will skip its traditional municipal Christmas trees this year. The Gettysburg Rotary Club planned a display around Center Square but abandoned the project. Rotarians will instead cooperate with the Fire Department for the annual Christmas party at the engine house.
The Reaser Furniture Gettysburg Furniture and Gettysburro Panel plants along with Hanover Cabinet announce a Christmas bonus plan totaling about $20,000. Bonuses, a percentage of yearly wages, will be paid to all employees via engraved checks before operations resume Monday morning December 28, with no New Year holiday observed.

Gettysburg motorists must display Pennsylvania license plates for 1926 or risk arrest for operating without tags. Officials say no extension will be granted despite many applicants still awaiting plates. Acting Secretary William H. John Anthony Monn, a Binie Rock resident and longtime Quincy township native, died from internal injuries after a tree he cut was deflected by another falling tree. Pupils celebrated J. A. Kepner's seventy seventh birthday at the Meade School during morning exercises. The program featured songs with ukulele accompaniment by Robert and Keith Fischer, sons of Dr. M Hadwin Fischer, a Lutheran Seminary faculty member.

Paul E. King and William Patterson were arrested after a crash on the Littlestown Tanetown road left their car badly damaged. King faces liquor and illegal liquor charges with $1000 bail. Patterson charged with illegal possession of liquor with $500 bail.
