Probe Quaker Valley Stabbing Death Today

A stabbing death at Quaker Valley is reported with details about a railroad worker killed at a John Cluck tar road site. The injured, Langie R. and Ray Hill, died at Warner Hospital. 108 Honored For Service At Hospital

At a Christmas Dance for the Staling 4 Hespial more than 100 persons received special recognition. Directors and officials of the hospital presented certificates, mantles, watches, and chains for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30 years of service. Gettysburg Elementary Schools saw higher results for grades three through six on the California Achievement Tests. Second grade scores fell below expectations in reading language and mathematics. Grades four to six showed strong progress in a separate reference skills subtest.

The Gettysburg Office of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Employment Security reported 63 initial unemployment claims this week. Most reflect seasonal declines in construction demand. The local office also processed 36 additional assistance actions and continued 408 cases.

Adams County tax figures show large balances owed

Adams County Commissioners reported final settlement on 1978 county taxes with about 23000.45 still owed. They will direct 2600 in real estate taxes to be collected by the Fox Creek Bureau while 7200 from 1446 persons will be handled by a private collection agency. Officials will meet with Hun ington and Tyrone Townships to discuss closing Kennedy and possibly disposing of a dilapidated pile of dirt. They approved rehabilitation work on a bridge over Conewago Creek in Butler Township and arrangements for milk supplies from Penn Dairies and Mason Dixon Farms Dairy for the county home and prison.

Moonies Return To Gettysburg On Friday

Two Unification Church members canvassed downtown Gettysburg on Friday selling candy to raise funds for witnessing programs. A federal court in Harrisburg ordered Gettysburg officials to drop a local solicitation and sales ban after resident complaints of harassment. Timothy McGlaughlin and Rich Frazier said the Gettysburg area is where they focus their fundraising. They reside at the Philadelphia Center and were the only center volunteers assigned to Gettysburg.

Bermudian Springs High to stage Christmas Candlelight Music Festival

Bermudian Springs High School presents a Sunday 4 pm Christmas Candlelight Music Festival featuring the Senior Band and Senior Chorus. Choral Director Matthew C. Rosendahl and instrumental director David L. Dietz lead performances of Joy To The World Silent Night and a Christmas Festival. Selections include variations on Three Kings, Do You Hear What I Hear, Gloria in Excelsis, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, Sleep, and Hallelujah Chorus with stage and decor by Lloyd Wagener. Christmas Concert By Civic Chorus at Gettysburg College

The Gettysburg Civic Chorus will present its annual Christmas concert on Friday December 2 at 8 am in Christ Chapel on the Gettysburg College campus.
