Relics Of Boxers Dug Up On Campus
Relics of Boxer nests used to bombard foreign legations were unearthed during ground breaking for a new building at a Catholic university. Six inch cannon balls and twelve inch shells were found five feet deep in a former vegetable garden. Dr. George Barry O'Toole of Detroit, rector, said arms were gathered by Prince Ying Pei-Leh, a Boxer chief, who bombarded Peiping. The property later passed from Ying to the emperor's uncle Hsinan T'ung and then to the Catholic fathers. the old buildings remain intact.

Major Lynn Adams Hunts Deer With Bow And Arrow
Major Lynn G Adams superintendent of the state police is described as a two bow and arrow hunter in the South mountains near here. Gun crews stalking deer spotted two quivers of arrows and a large bow on a solitary figure who turned out to be the major. He said deer hunting with a bow is more sport than using a rifle and he expects to bring one down.

A fatal shooting in the South Mountain districts left John K. Lock of Chambersburg dead from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Clarence Rosenberry, a friend and longtime companion, fired the shot during a deer hunt and Lock died several hours later at Chambersburg Hospital.

Waynesboro's Oldest Woman Resident Dies
Eliza W Fisher died at noon Saturday after a ten minute heart attack at age 95. Born October 24 1834 in Lancaster county she spent most of her life there, seven years with her daughter in Waynesboro. She was a member of the Reformed Mennonite church.

Sherdels Mark Tenth Wedding Anniversary

Harrisburg December 4 The motorist Elias Fineberg of Scranton asked the Pennsylvania state to cover 844.70 in damages to his car after a deer struck it. Capt Wilson C. Price said road care is the state’s responsibility and Fineberg should pursue other avenues to collect.
