Chancellor Helmut Kohl and his center right coalition win the first free all-German vote since 1932. East Germany’s former ruling party gains seats but loses momentum. The 24th annual Gettysburg Hospital Auxiliary Ball at the Ramada Inn drew more than 600 area residents as part of the auxiliary’s fund raising for the hospital. Chairpersons Hannah Hauser and Nancy Alcaro thanked supporters as The Gents and Bill Dayton Orchestra performed. Louis Previtt won two USAir tickets. Plans for the 1991 Silver Anniversary Ball were announced.
