Fire destroys seven room house near Table Rock
Firefighters from Gettysburg Biglerville and Arendtsville battled a blaze that leveled a seven room brick home on R L Kidwell farm near Table Rock. Loss estimated at 6000 dollars with furniture clothing and goods ruined. Kidwell a disabled World War veteran and his wife and three children had just left for Gettysburg. Sparks from a kitchen stove roof fire sparked the disaster while the family stayed with neighbor George Logan after the blaze broke out between 1 30 and 2 p m Saturday.

Boy, 6, Faces Possible Loss of Eye After Wire Injury
Robert Eberly, 6, of Rouzerville, suffered a severe eye injury when his brother Crawford, 10, pushed a wire through a barn door hole to unlock it and the wire struck Robert’s eye as he pressed his eye to the keyhole. He was taken to Waynesboro hospital where an operation was performed and doctors estimate several days to determine potential vision loss.

Fined for Hunting Violation in Local Court
Jacob Steck of North Washington Street was fined 20 for hunting without a license plus 4.25 in costs after arraignment before Justice Neil W. Gibson for an alleged offense on November 26. Steck claimed no shells were in his arm at arrest. A birth announced for Mr. and Mrs. C. Andrew Bigham of New Oxford at Warner Hospital with mother and child reported to be doing nicely. Biglerville Hotel Change Hands in Sale to Kreps
The Biglerville hotel, run for nearly two years by Roy Houck, was sold to Harry Kreps former manager at Graeffenburg Inn. Kreps to assume possession this week amid Houck illness. A chimney fire Sunday morning was controlled by the Biglerville fire company with no damage.

Elks Honor Deceased Members at Gettysburg Memorial
Gettysburg lodge 1045 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks held its annual memorial service at the Majestic theatre to honor nine departed members since December. Rev. Edward H. Miss Sallie Gehr who swallowed poison at the Rummel lodging house Carlisle street November 21 was discharged from Warner hospital Sunday morning and returned home to Conneaut Lake. Family members sent money for her trip. she gave no motive for the act.

More than 450 memberships and over 575 dollars have been received in Gettysburg and Adams county Red Cross annual roll call. The goal is 1,800 members with additional townships expected to offer totals. Fractured Skull Endangers Life Of 4 Year Old Boy
Four year old Howard K Wishard of Bingerville suffered a fractured skull after being struck by a car driven by Clarence Cool in Table Rock Saturday afternoon. He was in serious condition at Warner hospital. The boy is the son of Mr. and Mrs Ernest Wishard.

Aged Woman Falls Fractures Pelvis in Fairfield Home
Mary Harbaugh an 85 year old Fairfield resident and mother of postmaster H L Harbaugh fell at her home Thanksgiving Day tripping on six steps and fractured her pelvis. She was moved to Warner hospital by Gettysburg ambulance after initial doubt and later pain confirmed the injury.

Suit Seeks $10000 in Death of Mt. Joy Boy
Samuel V. Shull of Mt. Joy township files a common pleas suit against Rev. Earl S. Rudisill of York seeking 10000 damages for the death of Charles Martin Shull. The boy died two days after being struck by Rudisill’s car on Litttlestown road August 28. A coroner’s jury had exonerated Rudisill. Funeral, hospital, and medical expenses total 590 dollars.

Car Collision Leaves Driver Severely Cut Near Abbottstown
Paul A Hutchison and Paul N Reynolds were in separate cars on the Lincoln Highway one mile west of Abbottstown Saturday at 5 30 pm. Hutchison suffered a deep head and ear laceration requiring twelve stitches after being struck by Reynolds who drove on the wrong side. Patrolman Bingaman noted Reynolds faces a reckless driving charge. Hutchison was en route to Biglerville to visit his wife. Both cars were badly damaged.
