Cigarette Fire Destroys Snyder Co Van on Rt 194
A hot cigarette butt apparently tossed into a Snyder Co step van caused a fire on Rt 194 near Littlestown at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Firefighters found the 1975 van engulfed in flames and spent two hours mop up. Loss to the van is about 4500 dollars. cargo loss undetermined.

Adams County 4-H Dairy Show Winners Dominate Har risburg Event
Twelve blue ribbon winners from Adams County 4 Dairy Club entries led the 11th Southcentral District 4 Dairy Show in Harrisburg. Winners included Christine Gitt Littlestown and Dawn Ridinger Biglerville who captured reserve championships and Master Showman honors. Other blue ribbon recipients span Littlestown Gettysburg New Oxford Hanover and Biglerville with animals across Holstein Guernsey Jersey Brown Swiss and other breeds. A total of 221 animals were shown by 193 club members from seven counties with Adams County contributing 29 entries.
