Warner Hospital Board Cuts 2 Million From Building Plan

Hunterstown Nominated to National Register of Historic Places

The village of Hunterstown is nominated as an Historic District to the National Register, based on a 1977 PHMC filing. The district includes 29 properties from Granite Station Rd to Hunterstown Community Center, with origins dating to 1749 50 built by David Hunter and once called Woodstock.

Myers Named Administrator for Annie M. Warner Hospital

William D. Myers was unanimously elected acting administrator of the Annie M. Warner Hospital, succeeding Henry L. Gerber who resigned to start an accounting firm in Gettysburg. A Chanute Kansas native, Myers is a Murray Kentucky State University graduate with a masters in Health Care Administration from George Washington University and previously served as assistant administrator at University Medical Center.

Kingsdale Fire Queen Chosen At Carnival Night

Susan Boyd, 18, of Littlestown was selected from nine contestants as Kingsdale Fire Co. Queen during the firemen carnival Thursday evening. Miss Boyd received the crown banner flowers and $1 from the outgoing queen. She will represent the Kingsdale firemen in the Adams County Volunteer Firemen Association Queen Contest in Bonneauville next August. Other winners included Jody Nester first runner up and Lisa Breighner second runner up. The event was held in Littlestown with judges and community members in attendance.

Three Injured In County Traffic Crashes

Three people were injured in separate county road accidents on Thursday. Sharon F. Winell, 27, and her son Francis E. Winell, 7, from Center Mills, were treated after their car struck an embankment and overturned on LR 1806 near Aspers at 8:15 p.m. Joan Andrew Marpoe, 35, of Shippenburg R.D. 5, was admitted to Warner Hospital after being hit by a car on Rt. 30 seven miles west of Gettysburg at 11:45 p.m. He was struck by Brien R. Wonlser, 32, of Gettysburg R.D. 3, who drove a 1978 Buick. Marpoe walked into the path of the car. A separate crash on Rt 36 east of Caledonia State Park at 3:36 p.m. involved Carmen L. IB of Chambersburg pulling from the passing lane, colliding with Arnold David, 39, of Becksburg, in a 1874 GMC. Moderate damage to Minner’s sedan. no damage to Davis’ truck.

NOW Members in Walkathon On Saturday
