Fire damages residence on Emmitsburg Rd
Fire damaged a two story home on Emmitsburg Road near Gettysburg Avenues early today. Maryland state police saw flames from second floor windows and called Emmitsburg and Gettysburg fire companies. Interior damage estimated at 2000 to 3000 dollars with furnishings and rooms burned. Families evacuated. rooms and door to the first floor apartment were burned through but adjacent units were spared. Possible causes debated. either cigarette or faulty wiring suspected.

Camp Nawakwa hosts final 1944 camp for adult church workers
The last Camp Nawakwa session of the 1944 season opens this week near Brysona with 60 adults enrolled in a summer School for church workers. The program, led by Rev. George H.
