Borough Council Studies HGAC Aid for Brick Sidewalks
Gettysburg Borough Council last night tabled a request from Historic Gettysburg Adams County for the town to share costs for brick sidewalks in a 5 01 area fronting AC. The plan would cost about 33,500 for street area improvements. The safety committee was tasked to resolve tree immunity measures and to contact firms for guidance. Met-Ed undergrounding and a midget football pavilion at Rec Park were approved to be funded by the league, with continued note of further details on page 14.

Luella Paul Dies in La Jolla at 67
Luella Musselman Paul, 67, a Biglerville native and Gettysburg College trustee, died Monday in La Jolla California after a lengthy illness. She led Musselman fruit ventures, served on college and community boards, and supported philanthropy. Memorial services are Friday at Gettysburg Presbyterian Church with private interment in Biglerville Cemetery. Contributions may go to the Cancer Counseling and Research Center Fort Worth Texas.

Gettysburg area manufacturers approve new subdivision plan
The Adams County Manufacturers of the Gettysburg Area Der of Commerce approved a subdivision for their organization. Board members, including Bernard Weard Davies, discussed renewals and projects for Historic Gettysburg events and the Gettysburg Marathon logo design. A September 21 jamboree with music by Mary Jones and Her Melodees was planned.

Carlisle Couple Hurt In Collision Near Hampton
A Carlisle couple Edward Piocki and Barbara Piocki were injured and treated at Hanover Hospital after their 1976 Ford station wagon collided with Clair Kauffman’s 1968 Ford on RL 24 one half mile west of Hampton. Police said Piocki turned left into a private drive. Kauffman’s car attempted to pass and struck the Piocki vehicle. Kauffman uninjured. Piocki car damaged 31,000. station wagon total loss.

The twenty fifth Mud College reunion will be held Sunday August 20 at 8:00 p m at the one room school on US Route 140 three miles north of Lillestown. Lemuel Westmaster will preside with devotions by Frank Basehiver and music by James R Motter and Naomi Schwartz as organist. Fire damages Staley home in attic blaze
