Burglars forced entry at George J Smith and Mrs Clara G Smith home in Centennial and took 72 dollars in cash from multiple locations including two pocketbooks. Police were notified by Private Oberheim of the state police criminal investigation division and investigations began.

Two Women Robbed of Pocketbooks at Oak Ridge Stand
Two visitors at Oak Ridge battlefield were robbed of pocketbooks while at a souvenir stand Sunday afternoon. The incident was reported to state police by Mrs. Janet Sinclair of Overbrook Pa and Mrs. Mildred Feehrer of Narberth. They had parked near the stand about 1 20 pm and left the car unlocked with the items on the back seat. Items including bank cards licenses glasses a fountain pen and a flash belt valued at about 42 were taken from the two bags, one white leather and one black patent leather.

Stranger Fails in Attempt To Lure Kugler From Home
Police investigate an unexplained attempt to lure J. Walter Kugler from his home shortly before midnight Saturday. A car stopped near his house with its motor running and one occupant claimed Kugler’s brother was in the car and wanted to talk. Kugler refused to go, phoned his brother who was at the car, and fired a shotgun charge at the vehicle as authorities searched country roads for occupants. The visitor claimed to be “Heney Hull” and the matter remains unsolved.

Two Vehicles Crashed on Mountain Road. One Hurt
A truck and two sedans collided on a mountainside near the Adams Franklin line on the Waynesboro highway. Earl Hatch, 26, Altoona, reported he was hauling cantaloupes when a sedan driven by Clarence Warren descended the grade at high speed and struck the truck. Warren, taken to Waynesboro Hospital with a dislocated elbow and a fractured test elbow, faced questioning. Estimated vehicle damage totaled about $58. Authorities led the investigation, with Officer G R WagenSsen of Gettysboro presiding.

Injured Man Falls From Cottage Roof in Adams County

Couple Hurt When Car Leaves Road Near Brushtown
Paul S Leathery of York drove west on route 16d just west of Brushtown when blinded by approaching lights. He lost control and the car overturned. Miss Romaine Hershey of Hanover was thrown from the vehicle and injured. Both were taken to Hanover General Hospital by Earl Tapper of McSherrystown. Hershey suffered facial and bodily cuts with a possible shoulder fracture. Leathery had facial and body cuts. Auto damage estimated at 18.
