Rail Foreman Injured In Coal Yard Truck Crash
Edward S. Lau of Hanover, 65, foreman of a Western Maryland railroad section crew, was seriously injured when a coal truck struck the gasoline-driven work car he operated in New Oxford during a rainstorm. Lau, with probable skull fracture and facial lacerations, was taken to Warner Hospital. Donald Sanders of New Oxford drove the truck, failing to see the oncoming work car. Lau, superintendent of tracks, was to retire later this year. only minor damage occurred to the vehicles.
