Five Injured In Car Crash Tuesday Night
Five persons were injured in a two-vehicle collision on the Emmitsburg road south of Gettysburg around 10 30 p m Tuesday. Loretta Boyle 17 of Emmitsburg drove into the rear of Lawrence Deadrick 52 of Littlestown causing multiple injuries among the Boyle family and other passengers. Thirty chickens in the Deadrick car were killed. damage totaled about 400 dollars. The injured were taken to Warner hospital.

James Milton Wetzel, 70, of Orrtanna, underwent an above the knee amputation of the right leg at Warne hospital after a year of an infected foot and specialist care. His condition is reported favorable. He was a railroad track worker for many years and retired five years ago, later employed at an Orrtanna canning plant.

Fifteen Fatally Burned In Greyhound Bus Wreckage
Bloomington Indiana August 10 Fifteen people died when a Greyhound bus bound from Indianapolis to Bloomington struck a bridge abutment on a winding road near here and burned. Twelve others were injured as the bus skidded 150 feet and left the door blocked. Names of the deceased were not released and the driver cited a possible front tire blowout.

Negro Turned Over To Lancaster Cops
Lancaster police went to Gettysburg on Tuesday afternoon for Raymond J. Wright a 28 year old Black man from Washington DC wanted in Lancaster for the August 8 theft of an automobile owned by Raymond C. Graeff. Moose Club Hosts Night of Dance with Blue Burrow Orchestra
More than 1,000 people jammed the Moose club ballroom on York street Tuesday night for dances featuring Blue Burrow's orchestra. Bobby Beers Helen Lowe and Pat Laird were the featured vocalists as the band delivered two novelty shows. The Moose secretary Charles Lauver said the event proved so popular that efforts will be made to bring the orchestra back at a later date. Next stop for the group is Camp Meade tonight.

State Trooper Bartlett Sustains Further Crash Injuries
Cpl Jack Bartlett of the Pennsylvania state police was more severely hurt than first thought after a Monday afternoon crash on Bonneauville road near Gettysburg. X rays show head injury, right shoulder and thigh abrasions, a fractured pelvic bone. He will stay at Warner hospital two weeks, plus four to six weeks before returning to duty.
