Two Injured In County Auto Crashes
State police reported four auto accidents Monday injuring two people. William A Weikert, 20, Gettysburg, was treated for lacerations after his motorcycle collided with a car driven by Nancy L Proot, 30, Gettysburg, on the Lincoln Highway. Edward L Wolford, 17, Gardners, and Donald L Munshour, 66, Strasburg, also involved in separate crashes with minor injuries and property damage. A light green 1969 Chevrolet fled after hitting peach trees on the Robert Lentz farm, Cashtown vicinity.

Soil and Water District Plans Earth Day Display and Awards
Adams County Soil and Water Conservation District outlined plans for a display at the South Mountain Fair using Earth Day posters by students, with a ceremony for first through third place awards and teacher recognition. The group will seek fair approval to use the auditorium stage and will distribute soil conservation film and speaker lists for Earth Day projects. They also approved technical assistance for Anthony Garulo on 100 acres in Highland Two and Robert J. Mahone on 10 acres in Tyrone Two.

Clyde Bowling was installed as commander of the Albert J. Lentz American Legion Post 202 with Mrs. Margaret McPherson inducted as Auxiliary president during a joint installation at the Legion Home. Spare Tire On Jeep Strikes Walker In Fairfield
A 19 year old Fairfield pedestrian Barry Reese was struck by a spare tire mounted on an eastbound jeep along Greenstone Road west of Fairfield at 7 40 Monday. Reese was treated at Warner Hospital for contusions and released. Police say the side mounted spare tire struck him as the jeep driven by Leonard Swisher passed.
