July brought hot humid days with a cooler than normal monthly average of 74.59 degrees in Gettysburg, ninth tenth-year below normal. The high reached 96 on July 18 while July 1 dipped to 49, with measurable rain on nine days totaling 1.57 inches, far under the yearly normal of 3.75 inches for seven months. Thundershowers occurred on four days, and precipitation for the year to date stood at 23 inches, about 2.95 inches short of normal.
