County Applies for Federal Crime Watch Grant

Wil County officials unveiled a 27467 dollar grant application at a public hearing for the Crime Watch program. About half the funds will fund local neighborhoods and the rest reimburses courthouse security costs and prisoner transport. The county will provide 3051 dollars as matching.

Union Township seeks special joint meeting on transportation study

Union Township officials called a Wednesday night meeting to discuss the Southeast Adams Transportation Study. Supervisors Hillard Freet and Johnson endorsed a resolution for a regional session with Littlestown New Oxford McSherrystown Mount Joy Oxford and Union townships. The study, now part of the county plan, may attract county support, as officials note related Hanover regional work and possible funding. Meadowview Estates plans in Littlestown area were also noted with Robert Fisher purchasing rights to 90 acres along Basehoar Road.

Rathbone Retires as Upper Adams Superintendent

Dr Sue Rathbone retires after 31 years in public education, ending a 1994 UASD tenure marked by shifts toward the Harvard model and district-wide reform. Acting superintendent Dr Ross Blust replaces her, with plans for continued focus on teaching, learning, and restoring trust among stakeholders.
