Adams County native lands NASA illustration contract

Mike L. Sanni, a Gettysburg High School and Penn State graduate now based in Houston, works as a freelance illustrator for NASA. He recalls growing up in Adams County and credits his parents and rural upbringing for shaping his work ethic and artistic focus. His NASA role includes pen and ink conceptual illustrations for the Space Biology Initiative and upcoming Biomedical Monitoring projects, while his paintings depict space history from Sputnik to the shuttle era.

National Audubon Society Expands Environmental Efforts

Former Boy Scouts exec files sex bias complaints

Janet L. Palese, a Gettysburg resident and former district executive, files three sex discrimination complaints against the Boy Scouts of America and York-Adams Area Council. She alleges pregnancy and maternity leave, promotion denials, demotion, harassment, and a hostile work environment. Fairfield School Board Approves 4.8 Million Budget Plan

Fairfield School Board accepted a tentative 1990-91 budget of 4,866,708 with an equal revenue budget and a 17.2 percent tax increase bringing real estate taxes to 135.3 mills. A public hearing is set for May 7, with final adoption May 21. Additional hearings address a 2.41 million elementary additions and renovations.
