Waverly Consort to Perform at Gettysburg College Chapel

The Waverly Consort will present a program at 8 pm in Christ Chapel as part of Gettysburg College Sesquicentennial Week. The concert features Elizabethan and Jacobean England music including madrigals for May, Tudor church works, lute songs, consort songs, and a Shakespearean song medley.

Prison staff begin five week training course in Adams County

County commissioners reported a five week Bureau of Corrections course for prison staff started Wednesday in Adams County. The free program covers self defense security and prisoner mental health. Sessions are videotaped for later viewing as deputies stay on duty.

March Weather Stands Dry Cool With Below Normal Rain

Gettysburg weather records show March as cooler than normal for the third straight year and fourth in five with below average precipitation. Snowfall totaled 1.25 inches, six inches below March 1981, while the first quarter rainfall reached 4.32 inches, about 0.34 inches short of the usual. January and February posted rainfall surpluses, but March reduced the total.
