Testimony on Gin Methods Shows Cleaner Cotton Quality
ANN GOUREAY testifies that on Tuesday the 26th at Mr. J. Symonds house in Meeting Street she compared cotton ginned by a hand gin with that processed by a roller gin. The hand gin cotton was cleaner and dust free though staple length was similar. Carding and spinning showed the hand gin fiber pulled longer to produce fine thread with no knots.
