Buck versus hunter incident near Ogechee ends with deer killed
In Savannah on Monday the 13th, a named negro worker Adam, hired by Stephen S. Williams, pursued a buck approaching from ahead. After a fierce struggle the man snapped the deer's neck with a Herculean move and was injured, confined since. Williams later sent a horse to recover the deer and shared meat with friends.
