Italians Lynchings Shock Tampa After Murder Claim

In Tampa on September 20 two Italians Castenge Fic carrotta and Ragio Albano were seized from deputies and hanged at a wooded site after being held for suspected involvement in the shooting of J. D. Easterling. Police and deputies reported the mob of 50 to 75 men halted the wagon and executed them on a tree as Chief Woodward arrived.

Shackled to Attend Sister's Funeral in New Jersey

Peter Murphy will attend his sister's funeral in Patterson New Jersey today while shackled to ensure his return to Passaic county jail. He has been jailed since April for illegal voting after indictment and conviction but was never sentenced. During his imprisonment his father died and his sister died Sunday of consumption.

Atlanta Doctor Killed by Patient in Office Shooting

In Atlanta on September 20, W N Cox of Austell aged 36 shot and killed Dr J R Sewell in his office at 106 Whitehall Street as the physician emerged from surgery. Cox then shot himself and is hospitalized with a fractured skull. A coroner's jury orders Cox held for investigation. Dr Sewell, 46, leaves a wife and six children.
