Record Corn Ear Stuns Farm Viewers at Carvers Bay

A local farmer, J F Elliott of Carvers Bay, brought an ear of corn over twelve inches long with twelve rows and 724 grains from about half an acre planted late April. He is a prize contender for largest yield per acre and could win a county contest, with local bets offering $5 per inch for ears reaching twelve inches.
